Missy Yavasile

Board Member
Missy has committed her life to education. Having taught grades 4 through community college with the bulk of her time spent in high school, after 40+ years in public education, she saw the need for college planning in Tulare County. Having received her school counseling credential (Pupil Personnel Services-PPS) and her Masters Degree in Counseling and Administration and serving as a high school counselor, upon retiring from Visalia Unified School District, she put her entrepreneurial skills to work and became the founder of Soar College Planning in 2010.

As an independent college consultant, Missy has a strong desire to assist families in the college admissions and funding process. She is anxious to help the young adults and busy parents in our community navigate an overwhelming and constantly changing landscape, juggle the myriad of decisions about location and opportunities, and cut through the noise to manage application deadlines and financial aid. She looks forward to helping students identify their perfect college fit and reach their full potential.  She has written multiple college planning articles for local magazines.

Besides serving on the NCAG Board, Missy stays current on changes to the college admissions process by being an active member in several other professional organizations including Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).
